Why Volunteer?

We simply couldn’t continue to provide our care without the help of our amazing volunteers and we are hugely grateful to each and every one of them for all their support.

Come and join our fantastic team of friendly fundraisers. Make new friends and see first-hand the difference you can make to local people across central North Wales who are living with life-limiting illnesses. You can bring your skills to help us be the future of St Kentigern Hospice!

Giving just a few hours of your time regularly can help make a huge difference – to us and you.

Join our valuable team by finding a role to suit you

Volunteering takes many forms and is enjoyed by a wide range of people. We are extremely grateful to all of our volunteers and the marvellous work they do. If you would like to volunteer, below are some of the ways you can get involved with St Kentigern Hospice.

Main hospice reception

Often the first point of contact for anyone ringing or visiting the Hospice. A vital role, welcoming visitors, answering the telephone, dealing with enquiries, and passing on messages.

Fundraising & Events

Members of our lively fundraising team work tirelessly all year round to raise the funds to maintain hospice services at St Kentigern. Volunteers are greatly valued by the team in both administration roles in the office and helping at events.

Our Volunteer Support Groups are a fantastic way to support the Hospice through fundraising. Call the Fundraising team on 01745 585221 to find out how you can help, we would love to hear from you.

Wellbeing Hwb

Volunteers help with general daily tasks, talking with patients and serving meals.

Drivers

Volunteer Drivers are required to transport patients to and from the hospice, generally once a week. Drivers need fully comprehensive car insurance, a valid driving license and permission from their insurance company to use their own car for this purpose.

Fuel expenses are of course reimbursed.

Retail

We are always looking for assistance in our charity shops. If there is a shop in your area, we cover much of north east Wales and you would like to join our friendly teams, call 01745 583170

In-Patient Unit

Volunteers help with a variety of tasks as supporting nursing staff. These might include answering the door, giving help to patients, their relatives or visitors, arranging flowers, answering the telephone, and other duties as required. Full support and training is provided for this role.
