Our fantastic Hospice Champion Adrian Lewis, former Rydal Penrhos School pupil, has set himself the goal of completing the Ironman Copenhagen on 18th August 2024 in memory of his Naini, Jenifer, who received care at St Kentigern Hospice.
On 18th August 2024 Adrian will take on an ultra-endurance triathlon event consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bike ride, and a full marathon 26.2-mile (42.20 km) run, all to be completed in a single day, making it one of the most challenging endurance disciplines in the world. Adrian recently completed a half-Ironman in just over six hours, a day after competing in a weightlifting competition at Gymshark HQ!
Adrian has received support from notable sponsors, including award winning protein bar and sports nutrition company Grenade Offical supplement and vitamin company Peak Gains, Two Bare Feet Wetsuit producer and Warwick sport! Additional sponsors are always welcome, particularly those who might be able to help in terms of a TT bike, travel, and other equipment.
Taking to Social Media to share his experience Adrian said: “A very wholesome milestone completing the Conwy Half Marathon in 1hr and 38mins! Hugely unexpected progress from my 1hr 44min in Rugby especially with the heavy rain and storm like winds of North Wales not forgetting the 1300ft of elevation!”
“With my family and best friends there to support (special shout out to Taidi for blowing his Bugle at every opportunity 🤣) it was only fair I gave it my all! Very proud of my No.1 support @lizzieemz for completing it too! Very proud to be racing in my @stkentigernhospice T shirt to remind people why I’m on this journey and as always.”
