Hear and Now – Volunteer Listening Support Team

Hear & Now

Our volunteer led listening support team has evolved over the years, and is now a flexible phone or face to face service.

We continue to provide bereavement support to families, and for those who are caring for loved ones who are unwell and under palliative care.

Hear and Now, has been especially effective in being able to reach those that are isolated, clinically vulnerable or simply can’t reach us to visit loved ones at the Hospice due to current restrictions and need to talk over those feelings. This service is aimed at adults in our community and is not a formal counselling commitment. It can be accessed at home, our volunteer will call you initially to introduce themselves arrange a suitable time.

Please call Merith on 01745 585221 ex 224, ask on the ward, in day therapy or in our new Caffi Cariad, for more details.

In future we will recommence groups, and a volunteer run bereavement drop in service. All of our volunteers are interviewed for these support roles and then trained in-house alongside experienced volunteers, before being able to take part in this confidential service.

(If you are a warm, approachable person with excellent interpersonal skills and would like to support Hear and Now in future, please speak to Merith Shorter directly 01745 585221)
