Four familiar faces from St Kentigern Hospice are preparing to step out of their comfort zones to support the patients and families at the heart of their work.
On Friday 23 October, Mark Connelly, Fundraising Manager; Victoria Grimster, Matron; Sam Ricketts, Caffi Cariad Chef; and Barry Easton, Nurse Associate, will take on our Fire Walk at RN Williams & Sons in St Asaph.
Working across fundraising, nursing and catering, each brings something different to hospice life. This time, they will be coming together for a shared challenge: walking barefoot across hot embers and asking our community to get behind them.
Why we’re taking part
Through our work at St Kentigern Hospice, we see how much compassionate care matters when someone is living with a life-limiting illness. We also see the difference that kindness, understanding and time can make to the people closest to them.
From specialist nursing care to wellbeing activities and emotional support for families, the hospice is here to help people feel cared for, listened to and supported.
That care is made possible with the help of our community. Taking on the Fire Walk is another way for us to play our part—and we would love you to be part of it too.
Help us make every step count
If you can, please sponsor our team through our shared JustGiving page. Whatever you choose to give, your donation will help support the hospice’s work with local patients and families.

You can also help by sharing our page with friends, family and colleagues. A message in a WhatsApp group, a shared social media post or a conversation with someone you know could encourage another person to get involved.
And if our team has inspired you to take on the challenge yourself, why not join us? Find out more on our Fire Walk event page.
Thank you for supporting Mark, Victoria, Sam and Barry, and for helping us care for our community.
