This week, we were delighted to welcome Gill German MP to St. Kentigern Hospice, where she met with our Chief Executive, Jane McGrath, and Chair, Steve Thomas.
Her visit was an opportunity to discuss the work being carried out at the hospice, the challenges we face, and our hopes for the future. As a passionate advocate for community healthcare and specialist palliative services, she listened to the experiences of our team and shared her own reflections on how hospice care impacts families.
During the visit, our Chief Executive and Chair discussed the importance of sustainable funding and support for hospices, particularly in the face of the increasing demand for those who require palliative care. Gill reaffirmed her commitment to championing the needs of hospices like ours, ensuring that compassionate end-of-life care remains a priority in our community.
St Kentigern Hospice is more than a building, it is a place of support within the local community for those who are impacted by often the most challenging time in their lives. That support is built by staff, volunteers and supporters who believe in making a difference to the local community. As the hospice proudly marks 30 years of exceptional care, we are reminded of the incredible strength and support of our local community and look forward to celebrating this milestone together.
We are incredibly grateful for Gill German MP’s time and support and look forward to working together to supporting the hospice care St Kentigern Hospice provides.
