Bryson Recycling donates nearly £6000 to two local charities through their “Recycling Rewards” campaign which aims to boost local recycling rates while raising much needed funds for charity.
Bryson Recycling manage three Recycling Centres in Denbighshire Council County Council, located at Rhyl, Ruthin and Denbigh, and two in Conwy County Borough Council area, located at Mochdre and Abergele. For every tonne recycled at the Denbighshire sites over the last year, £1 was donated to St Kentigern Hospice; for every tonne recycled at the Conwy sites, £1 was be donated to St David’s Hospice.
This campaign was launched in April 2022 and during the year 3148 tonnes were recycled at the Conwy sites, meaning £3148 was donated to St David’s Hospice and 2759 tonnes were recycled at the Denbighshire sites, resulting in a £2759 donation to St Kentigern Hospice.
Mark Ellis, Community Engagement Manager at Bryson Recycling said:
“Through our Recycling Rewards campaign we aim to raise awareness for the importance of recycling and its positive contribution to our community. We are delighted to partner with two such worthwhile local charities this year who provide such an essential service the local areas we live and work in”.
Cllr Geoff Stewart, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood and the Environment, said:
“It’s great news that through using our recycling centres, residents are not just having a positive impact on the environment, but also helping to benefit our communities via St David’s Hospice. We encourage residents to keep on recycling so the Recycling Rewards scheme can help even more.”
Councillor Barry Mellor, Lead Member for Environment and Transport for Denbighshire County Council, said:
“This is a fantastic initiative run by Bryson Recycling and is a great way of giving back to the community and to two valuable charities in St Kentigern Hospice and St David’s Hospice. Denbighshire County Council declared a climate change emergency in July 2019 and it aims to become a Net Carbon Zero Council by 31 March 2030. Recycling is a key element of delivering this ambitious programme and the Council is proud of its high recycling rates, although there is always room for improvement and we are working hard with partners, such as Bryson to deliver ensure we hit this target.”
