The Companion Bed Big Enough for Two

We are asking your help for a very special ‘Big Give Christmas campaign’ in our 30th Year. The Big Give campaign offers a unique opportunity for Charites to double the money raised through match funding, making a massive difference to the work that they do.

We are trying to raise £17,000 for a ‘Cwtch Bed‘ Big Enough for Two. With touch being one of the last senses to fade at life’s end, the bed is designed so partners, children and loved ones can lie next to patients, spending quality time together matters most or during final days and hours together. The Companion bed has several specialist features that will enable people staying at the hospice to be more comfortable while enjoying precious moments of physical affection with family and friends.

What does Cwtch mean? Cwtch is a lovely Welsh word meaning to cuddle, snuggle or hug – when you give someone a cwtch you’re not only comforting them but providing them with a safe place. It symbolises that warm feeling that only trust and closeness to a loved one can create.

How you can support:

A bed costs, on average, £17,000* to provide and we need your support to reach this goal – help us to give the gift of a Cwtch and enable loved ones to continue making lasting memories, together.

  • Donate to the cause via the Big Give Page. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a huge difference – helping us to get closer to our target.
  • Share out and raise awareness within the community. Please consider sharing the link, or our posts to help spread the word.
  • Your local business can Match Fund, donate, or provide a fundraising opportunity for fundraisers, raffle prizes or more.

When can you donate?

The Big Give Challenge 2025 launches on the 2nd December, and will be live for seven days. Donations made to our campaign from midday 2nd to midday 9th December 2025 will be DOUBLED*.
