St. Kentigern Hospice Trekkers Complete Their 67km Camino de Santiago Challenge

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our incredible group of trekkers has successfully completed their 67km hike along the Camino de Santiago in support of St. Kentigern Hospice! After days of determination, courage, and sheer grit, they’ve crossed the finish line, raising over £10,000 to help support those with life-limiting conditions in our community. From the start of their journey, the group has embodied the spirit of perseverance and compassion. They set off on their adventure, travelling from North Wales to London before flying to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. The Camino presented them with tough terrain and long days, but our trekkers powered through!

After completing the gruelling first day—29km from Palas de Rei to Arzua—they continued with another 21km hike to Amenal. Each step was taken with heart and determination, knowing they were walking for such an important cause. And now, after completing the final stretch, they can proudly say they conquered the 67km Camino de Santiago!

Incredible Support and Team Spirit!

Among the group were our very own Kate and Wendy, two amazing members of our clinical team who took on the challenge. For Kate, this marked her third trek with St. Kentigern, after previously conquering the Great Wall of China, while Wendy bravely completed her first-ever challenge with us! They both demonstrated unwavering commitment and teamwork, walking together to support the hospice and the people we serve.

The entire team has inspired us all, showing the power of community, resilience, and dedication. We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has donated, sponsored, and sent messages of encouragement to our trekkers along the way. Your generosity has made this journey possible and ensures that we can continue providing essential care and support for those who need it most.

If you haven’t had the chance to donate yet, it’s not too late! Every donation goes a long way in helping us care for people with life-limiting conditions, offering them comfort and support throughout the year.
