Silver Surfers won their bid for funding

Great news last night as Neil and I went to the presentation and voting of the St Asaph Participatory Funding for 2013.

Our bid this year was to buy a laptop and digital camera for the Day Therapy Unit, so that we can teach our patients how to access different sites such as Cancer Research UK, social media programmes, Skype and email, so that they can stay in touch with family and friends who may not live in this area.

The camera is to start and possibly re-ignite hobbies as we begin a photography club. Our aim is for the patients to produce a calendar that they have control of and then sell to raise funds for the hospice.

After all the presentations from the various organisation, the voting began, you could see on the screen as the votes were totting up, very exciting, we kept going up and down, up again and in the end we were one of the lucky ones, winning our bid for £450.

A big thanks to Bill who organised the funding and the evening, thank you.
