Christmas Tree Recycling Collection

11–22 January 2027

Start the new year with one less job on your list! Let St Kentigern Hospice collect and recycle your real Christmas tree while you help support local hospice care.

Our friendly staff and volunteers will collect your tree from outside your home and arrange for it to be responsibly recycled, saving you the hassle of a trip to the recycling centre.

In return, we kindly ask for a donation to help us provide specialist care and support for local people living with life-limiting illnesses, and their families.

Where are we collecting?

We’re collecting from selected postcodes across LL16, LL17, LL18, LL19, LL22 and CH8.

Please check that your address is within our collection area before registering.

How to book

  1. Register online using the booking link below.
  2. Provide your collection address and any helpful instructions so our volunteers can find your tree.
  3. Make a donation to support St Kentigern Hospice.
  4. Leave your tree outside by 8am on Monday 11 January 2027, ready for collection.

Book your collection

When will my tree be collected?

Collections will take place between Monday 11 January and Friday 22 January 2027.

We’re unable to provide a specific collection date or time. Please leave your tree outside throughout this period until it has been collected.

Getting your tree ready

Before collection, please make sure:

  • All decorations, lights, stands and pots have been removed.
  • Your tree is not wrapped in plastic.
  • Your tree is in a safe, clearly visible and easily accessible place outside your property.
  • Any gates needed for access are unlocked.
  • You have included any helpful access instructions when booking.

We can only collect real Christmas trees. We cannot collect artificial trees, wreaths or other garden waste.

A simple way to make a difference

St Kentigern Hospice is a charity, and the generosity of our community helps us continue caring for local patients and families.

By booking a collection and making a donation, you’ll be helping your tree find a useful purpose after Christmas—and helping us be there for people when they need us.

Thank you for supporting your local hospice.
