About Linda Zouggari
Bio: Cardiology medical secretary Linda was born in Liverpool and has lived in the Wirral and Turkey. She moved to Prestatyn in 2003 where she lives with her husband Ouassim and daughter Kelly. She has five children and her daughters, Katie and Rachel, and sons Shawn and Steven have moved out, but she cooks for them often.
When did you first appear on MasterChef and how did it go?
“I first appeared on MasterChef in Series 19 in 2023. It was fantastic to be chosen to go on the show and I never even thought I would get an apron, but I really hoped that I would. It was such an amazing experience full of every emotion you can imagine. I eventually got to ninth place and went out at the end of Knockout Week. I met many other great cooks – it was the best experience of my life.”
What is your food dream and has that changed since first time round?
“I would like to have a small place doing my food, preferably in Turkey were I would like to retire to. Ideally for now I’d like to have a food truck. I like doing events and I have been doing some charity stuff to raise money for our North Wales Cancer Centre at Glan Clwyd Hospital, we have a wonderful group of ladies who have had breast cancer like myself and we get together to raise money, one of the highlights has been our ‘Breast friends Calendar’ based on the Calendar Girls. I have also done food events for St Kentigerns Hospice in North Wales and hope to continue. I would like to use my food skills to raise more money for other charities in the future too, especially for diabetes charities, as my son is diabetic.”
How did it feel to be back in the MasterChef kitchen?
“It felt very exciting to be back and I felt privileged to take part in this special 20th anniversary series. Obviously all the nerves came back and I felt more pressure the second time round. The standard is higher and of course it was harder this time.”
