Adrian Lewis Triumphs at Ironman Copenhagen 2024, Raising £6,610.19 for St Kentigern Hospice

We are extremely honoured to have so many incredible Hospice Champions supporting St Kentigern Hospice by competing in daring challenges all while fundraising for the Hospice. It is a privilege to be able to share their journeys and one exceptional Hospice Champion who truly inspires us is Adrian Lewis, who recently completed the Ironman Copenhagen 2024 in aid of the hospice. Adrian’s hard work and determination not only saw him conquer one of the world’s most grueling endurance races but also raise an impressive £6,610.19 to support hospice care in the community so far.

An Unbelievable Achievement

For those unfamiliar with the Ironman challenge, the triathlon consists of an 8km swim, 180km bike ride, and a full 42.2km marathon run—back to back. Despite the difficulty, Adrian took it all in stride, crossing the finish line with impressive times:

  • Swim: 8km in 01:18:41 🏊‍♂️
  • Bike: 180km in 05:39:14 🚴‍♂️
  • Run: 42.2km in 04:13:18 🏃‍♂️

What makes Adrian’s achievement even more meaningful is the personal motivation behind his mission. He dedicated the race to his Naini (grandmother), whose memory spurred him on during the toughest moments of the race. His deep connection to the cause highlights the importance of the work St Kentigern Hospice does for families facing the challenges of terminal illness and loss.

Adrian’s triumph wasn’t a solo endeavor. Throughout his training and the race itself, he was supported by his family, friends, and an incredible community of donors and well-wishers. Their encouragement helped Adrian push through the toughest moments and cross that finish line. Adrian’s journey is a testament to what can be achieved when passion, determination, and community support come together. His efforts will directly benefit St Kentigern Hospice, allowing us to continue providing compassionate, high-quality care to those who need it most.

This January, let’s channel Adrian’s determination and make 2025 a year of impact, one challenge at a time. Together, we can ensure that compassionate care continues for everyone who needs it. Why not take on a challenge of your own? Whether it’s running, walking, cycling, swimming, or something completely unique, you can help raise vital funds for St. Kentigern Hospice.
