Management Team

Glyn lives in Eglwysbach.  Glyn was appointed on to the Board of Trustees in July 2022 and sits on the Audit and Governance committee and the General Purpose committee.

He is a retired professional with over twenty years of senior executive experience in the tertiary education sector.  Glyn’s main responsibilities included Human Resource Management, Chief Accounting officer, Educational Character and Quality Management, Estates and Facilities Management. Glyn enjoys mountain walking, rock climbing and sailing.

Rhian Clarke lives in Abergele where she and her husband retired to twelve years ago.

Rhian is a fluent Welsh speaker and was brought up on the family farm in Mid Wales where was much involved in the cultural scene.

She was appointed as a Board Trustee in July 2023 and sits on the Audit and Governance committee.

Her career history encompasses many of the disciplines of the business scorecard namely retail, finance, risk, people management and customer experience. Rhian has also extensive experience in people management and latterly was a Regional Manager and Board member of a large financial organisation.

Supporting charities is close to Rhian’s heart. Whilst working in South Wales she became a Trustee of Tŷ Hafan. She is also an active member of the St Kentigern Abergele Support Group. In her spare time, Rhian enjoys, amongst other things, playing bridge, event planning, leading a healthy lifestyle, networking and making a difference.

Rhian joined the St Kentigern Hospice Board of Trustees in July 2023, having retired the previous year from her role as Corporate Services Director and Group Company Secretary with an Internet Service Provider in Dublin.  She spent 26 years working in Ireland, specialising in Human Resources, Finance and Corporate Governance.

Rhian was brought up in a Welsh speaking family in Denbigh and attended Ysgol Glan Clwyd, before graduating from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. She is a Chartered Member of the CIPD, a Fellow of IATI and holds a Professional Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Smurfit Business School, University College Dublin.

Adrian joined St Kentigern Hospice in July 2023 and is a member of the Quality & Safety Committee. Prior to his retirement Adrian had a career spanning over 37 years in the NHS starting as a junior scientist and finishing as the Executive Director of Therapies and Health Science at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, a post he held for seven years.

In between these roles Adrian lead and managed a number of services and specialties at senior and strategic levels including diagnostics, therapies, sciences, medicine, surgery and cancer.  Adrian has worked closely with many stakeholders and partners locally and nationally. He has a wide breadth and depth of knowledge and experience including strategy, governance, quality and safety, innovation and IT. Adrian lives in Prestatyn.

Randal joined the Board of St Kentigern Hospice in October 2017 and sits on the Finance Committee.  His career has been involved with finance having been employed in the banking industry for 35 years retiring as a senior bank manager in 1999.  Randal then took on the role of finance manager with The Port of Mostyn Ltd retiring in 2017, he served as a company secretary in the latter years of employment and is a former member of the Associate of the Institute of Bankers.

Randal is proud to be a North Walian and has resided in Rhos-on-Sea for the past 37 years.

After graduating in economics, Gren joined the NHS as a management trainee. He moved to Wales in 1983 and held the post of CEO of Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust for 17 years until he retired in 2009.  Since then he has provided consultancy support to NHS Trust Boards in the UK on patient safety.

Gren lives in Prestatyn and has been involved in a number of local charities including Marsh Tracks, a cycling facility in Rhyl and the North Wales Resources Centre for disabled people.  Gren joined the Board of St Kentigern Hospice in February 2022 and is chairman of the General Purpose committee, and sits on the Finance Committee and also advises on good governance practice.

Dr Uday Bisarya was appointed to the Board of Trustees in October 2015.  Dr Bisarya sits on the Quality and Safety Committee.

Dr Bisarya has worked in the NHS for 45 years.  Initially in various hospitals and for the last 37 years as a general practitioner with his wife in a family practice based in Old Colwyn.  For over 20 years he worked as medical panel member on social services and child support tribunals.  For 37 years he was a member of Colwyn Bay Rotary club

Dr Bisarya holds a professional qualification of MBBS, Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of surgery.  At present he lives in Rhos-on-Sea.  He is also a member of local and regional medical committees representing general practitioners

John Griffith Thomas was appointed to the Board of Trustees at St Kentigern Hospice in July 2023.  John sits on the Finance committee and the Audit and Governance committee.

John was admitted as a solicitor in 1976, appointed Deputy District judge in 1993, becoming a full time District Judge in 2004 and retiring in 2023.  His experience has provided the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people and acquire knowledge of legal matters and frameworks.

John was born and raised in Anglesey and for the past 40 years has been a resident of Prestatyn, he is a fluent Welsh speaker and proud advocate of the Welsh Language.

Judy joined St Kentigern as a Trustee and Treasurer in February 2016, she chairs the Finance committee and is a member of The General Purposes committee.

Judy is a qualified accountant who worked as Finance Director in two major companies – Pilkington P.E. Ltd in St Asaph (now Qioptiq) and Siemens Healthineers in Llanberis.

From April 2016 to August 2023, Judy was also a member of the Board of Governors and Chair of the Strategy and Finance committee at Wrexham University.

Judy is married with 2 grown up sons and 4 grandchildren and has lived in St Asaph since 1984.

Jonathan Osborne joined the board of Trustees in 2016. Jon is Vice Chair and Medical Adviser to the board.  Jon also chairs the Quality and Safety Committee and Audit and Governance committee.

Jon is a retired Consultant ENT surgeon at Glan Clwyd Hospital and was previously Chairman of the Welsh Consultants Committee.  Jon enjoys running his beef and sheep farm and is Chairman of the Bryn y Maen Agricultural show.  Jon is also in the process of learning the Welsh language.

Steve joined St Kentigern Hospice as a Trustee in 2021 and became Chair of the Board in March 2023.

Steve started his working life as a Commercial Apprentice with Airbus and retired after a varied career some thirty eight years later. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and former High Sheriff of Clwyd. Steve is a trustee of several other charities including PACT (Police and Community Trust), Cynnig and Dangerpoint.

Steve recently moved back to St Asaph where he is currently putting his DIY and gardening skills to the test.
